AIAM members have invested over $39.3 billion in 69 U.S. vehicle plants, component manufacturing facilities and R&D centers which employ 92,700 Americans with a payroll of $6.3 billion.

AIAM member company facilities produced 3.5 million units in 2007 – more than 33% of total U.S. production.

AIAM members plan to invest another $3.9 billion in the United States to create 8,000 new American jobs by 2010 by constructing three new vehicle assembly plants and expanding existing facilities.

More than 99% of the vehicles sold by AIAM member companies in the United States meet California's stringent LEV emission standards.

AIAM companies purchased nearly $46 billion in parts and materials from U.S. suppliers in 2007.

More than half of all vehicles sold by AIAM members in the United States are made in the United States.

Advancing Technology: The Greenest Vehicles on the Road

Starting in 1999, AIAM members were the first to offer American consumers hybrid electric vehicles and have now sold over 1 million hybrids in the United States. For the 2007 model year, AIAM members offer eight hybrid models–six cars and two SUVs.

Advancing Technology: The Safest U.S. Cars and Trucks Available Today

In advance of federal regulations, AIAM members offer 126 models with Electronic Stability Control standard, which aids drivers in controlling their vehicles, reducing single vehicle crashes by 59% for SUVs and 34% for passenger cars.
